PicassoMio Gallery to open its 2nd Spain-based gallery in Barcelona

With the opening of its second Spanish location, PicassoMio Gallery will become the first major gallery to have branches in both Madrid and Barcelona, Spain.

Boca Raton, Florida, and Madrid, Spain (October 6, 2005)

PicassoMio Gallery will open a new exhibition space in Barcelona in October. This innovative gallery continues to augment its impact on the global art market, through its discriminating selection of art by 1,000 international artists, its creative marketing campaigns and its popular website, www.PicassoMio.com. After the success of its spaces in Madrid and Boca Raton, PicassoMio is launching a new project: a third PicassoMio Gallery space, in Barcelona, located in Calle Corceja 263, in the upscale neighborhood of L´Eixample.

PicassoMio Galleries are dedicated to introducing the latest trends in American, British and international contemporary art to the Spanish audience. PicassoMio Gallery Barcelona will present 6 to 10 exhibitions annually, showing selected works by international artists that can currently be acquired on www.PicassoMio.com. PicassoMio Gallery Barcelona´s exhibition program for the first year will include: a Thai contemporary art collective show, an exhibition of artworks created by Asian children affected by the 2004 Tsunami, an Indian contemporary art collective show, solo exhibitions by hip Irish photographer, Bob Carlos Clarke and Barcelona’s well known actor and expressionist painter Jordi Molla, amongst others.

The Barcelona gallery, like its Madrid counterpart, will complement PicassoMio’s website where its distinctive collection of 20,000 artworks will continue to be available to collectors and art-lovers around the world. PicassoMio Gallery visitors will be able to view any work from PicassoMio.com’s vast collection in person, providing clients unprecedented access to distinctive art from all over the world. In addition to its exhibitions, all open to the public, visitors to the Barcelona gallery will be offered complimentary professional consultation, including the selection and suggestion of artists and works for specific spaces, always with the goal of serving the needs of the client.

The Barcelona gallery will be managed by Arian Martin Montaner. She previously worked with the Exhibitions Department at the CCCB (Centro de Cultura Contemporánea de Barcelona), the Buytewech Gallery, Rotterdam and the Schröder Galerie, The Hague.

According to Allan Majotra, Managing Director: "Our intention in launching a gallery in Barcelona is to better serve our clients and art-lovers in the region of Catalonia. We hope to open one or two exhibition spaces each year, in the major European and American cities, that will continue to promote our artists. Each of our galleries will show contemporary works as well as pieces representing trends that are difficult to find in the area."

Since opening in 2000, PicassoMio Galleries and PicassoMio.com have sold thousands of artworks by hundreds of modern and contemporary Spanish and international artists from around the world. Sold pieces include works by masters like Picasso and Warhol, contemporary names like Damien Hirst, Martin Parr and Vanessa Beecroft, as well as pieces by exceptional emerging artists in the earliest stages of their careers.
