Worth it,

I disagree with the other reviewer. This book has plenty of pictures, however having larger sized reproductions would be nice. Albert Moore's subject matter was a means to an end, he aimed at making beautiful pictures rather than historical or religious scenes. His brushwork is fantastic and his understanding of colour interactions superb. As this is the only book on him it is worth the buy.

Meh. That's the feeling I had after going through this book, especially having purchased it full of enthusiasm for any and all things Pre-Raphaelite.
I have learned my lesson. I am quickly discovering that there are two kinds of 'art books'. Those with more pictures than text and vice-versa. This is the text book kind.
The few works included here seem a bit repetitive and, frankly boring. Same near nude girl several different ways. I can count on one hand the pictures that depict something other than the same nude girl.
And to top that, the book is 70 percent text, which is useful if you plan on studying this for school or research, but very disappointing when you only want a nice art book. Be aware that this is not really an art book, just a overdone textbook.
