Jasper Morrison

Jasper Morrison was born in 1959 in London, England. An advocator of a more moderate approach to design, he helped establish a new sensual minimalism in the 1990s.

His moderate approach is visible in his colors and shapes which remain neutral and restrained. This can be seen in the gentle curve of an armrest such as in the Plychair. He also started designing tubular steel furniture including the SIM stacking chair for Vitra and the Vega chair series for Artifort. He has become a versatile designer, designing everything from electrical appliances over domestic appliances, to a contemporary whiskey bottle. Morrison prefers to keep a low profile in keeping with his purist standards of moderate design.
