Chris Francis Biography

Chris Francis was born in Birmingham, in 1946.

He is unusual as an artist in that he has had a long and varied career in business.

He firmly believes in working from the subject matter, influenced by the Impressionists and later artists such as Van Gogh, Degas and Cézanne.

He produces monochromes or multi-colored under-paintings in acrylics and then works over the images in wax crayon or oil pastels.

He currently runs workshopes in life drawing and painting in London.

Education

Chris graduated from Stoke-on-Trent College of Art, in 1967.

From that date to the present day he has attended adult education classes includign Summer School at the Slade School of Art.
