Dinesh Doshi Biography

Doshi was born in 1949 and spent the first decade of his life in Africa. At the age of eleven Doshi began studying in Bombay [now Mumbai], India where he discovered his talent, passion and proclivity for artistic expression. “I received more discipline and training as an artist during this time period,” he recalled while sitting at his ornate glass dining table, which weighs 900 pounds and is highlighted by hand-sculpted chairs adorned with brass ram heads. Doshi’s unique and progressive aesthetic, informed by functionality, extends past his home and office and seeps into every design he creates. “It was at school that I learned about interior design, architecture, graphics; in that four years I became focused on art and decided at the age of sixteen that the path of my life would be all about art.” 1970 Churchgate, Mumbai - solo show
