Editorial Reviews

Flash CS4 Professional Digital Classroom is like having a personal instructor guiding readers through each lesson, while they work at their own pace. This book includes 13 self-paced lessons that let readers discover essential skills and explore new features and capabilities of Adobe Flash Professional. Every lesson is presented in full color with step-by-step instructions. Learning is reinforced with video tutorials and lesson files on a companion DVD that were developed by the same team of Adobe Certified Instructors and Flash experts who have created many of the official training titles for Adobe Systems. Each video tutorial is approximately five minutes long and demonstrates and explains the concepts and features covered in the lesson. This training package shows the basics of using the program, such as using layers and instances to build animation sequences, as well as advance features, such as using ActionScript to create interactive Web page components. Jam-packed with information, this book and DVD takes users from the basics through intermediate level topics and helps readers find the information they need in a clear, approachable manner.

Note: CD-ROM/DVD and other supplementary materials are not included as part of eBook file.

Finally, I can grasp the concepts of Flash., 2009-11-03
by M. Rogne
I've read a few books on Flash, and numerous tutorials. This is the first time I've tried CS4 (trial)... but I have tried CS3 and MX.

I could never, for whatever reason, grasp the concepts of Flash necessary to build anything but elementary Flash movies.

FINALLY, this book has broken the barrier I believe! It has a very "classroom" or "tutor" feel to it, and with the DVD videos & files.. it makes it extremely easy to understand what exactly you're doing... what works, and HOW it works.

Highly recommend the book.. make sure you get the DVD that comes with it.

Amazing Reference..., 2009-10-09

I ordered this book without any previous experience using Flash (CS4 or any earlier versions). After only a few days...I was creating code and using Adobe Flash on my own website...LOVE THIS BOOK...it helped so much in understanding the program.
Good for the Beginning Flash User, 2009-09-01
by Candace M. Aisenbrey
I'm all for any book with short, simple explanations along with step-by-step hands on training, which is what you get when you buy this book. If you're just now stepping into Flash and want a good intro, this book is a good investment.

I thought the first few tutorials were kind of boring - in Chapter 3, you draw a fish ... but once you get past these, they get more interesting.
Not as good as I had hoped, 2009-08-19
by Bernie V. Chiaravalle (Nashville)
The press and reviews on this book made me think it was much better than it turned out to be. It's ok but I had hoped for a lot more in the way of deep Flash and cool techniques. I'd give it a C.
