Gewoon Biography

Gewoon was founded by Loes Wagemans in Amsterdam in 1999. The designs are created by Loes Wagemans and Ellis Rowold. They sell wholesale interior design products, textile accessories and children?s products. Focusing on living products for modern urban society and for daily use, they combine traditional processes and technical materials in contemporary designs. They work mostly with textiles, and industrial wool felt in particular. They produce pillows, bags, seating, cushions and handbags, amongst other accessories. They also provide personal, custom design services for several clients. Their cushions are featured in restaurants, hotels, the ministry of foreign affairs, TU Eindhoven, national gallery of Prague art & design, and the Mexx design center. They have presented at fairs such as the Maison et Objet Paris, Salone del Mobile Milano, ICFF New York, 100% design Rotterdam, and Pulse London. Gewoon exhibited at Kunstpaviljoen (The Netherlands), National Gallery (Prague), Designfactory (Bratislava), and Gemeentemuseum (De Hague).
