Stefan Diez Biography

Stefan Diez was born in Freising, Germany in 1971. He trained in architecture and carpentry and then spent a year in India designing and building furniture for Mumbai and Poona. He later studied industrial design at the State Academy of Art and Design Stuttgart from 1996-2002. He assisted Richard Sapper in the US in 1998 and Konstantin Grcic in Munich until he founded his own design studio in 2002 in Munich. He has developed furniture, tableware, bags, and exhibition designs among other things. His designs are minimalist and always meet the needs of the clients. He works intensively with materials and fathoms out their limitations. His products are also always coherent and diverse.
