Grazina Vitartaite Biography

GRAZINA JANINA VITARTAITE Grazina Janina Vitartaite was born on October 3, 1942 in Lithuania (Krekenava, Panevezys district). In 1966 she graduated from the Lithuanian State Art Institute specialty of monumental painting and fresco. Since 1967 she is the member of Lithuanian Artist Union. 1971-1980 she is the freelance artist, member of the annual national and exhibitions in the former USSR. 1980-1989 she is Senior lecturer, Associate professor, Head of Painting department of Lithuanian State Art Institute. In 1984 she was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Lithuania. In 1986 she was awarded the title of Associate professor. 1989-1997 she is the freelance artist, member of the annual national and foreign exhibitions. 1997-2000 she is the lecturer, the Director of the Vilnius School of Design. Since 2000 she is the freelance artist, member of the annual national and foreign exhibitions. G. Vitartaite has organized over 30 personal exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad. She has participated in group exhibitions in the United Arab Emirates, Austria, Germany, USA. Her paintings are purchased by museums in Vilnius and Kaunas, Russian Art Fund, the Lithuanian national Fund, Baltic holiday house of the Lithuanian Government, private art galleries, private collectors in Lithuania, USA, Canada, France, Israel, Finland. In 2007 was released the album of painting of G. Vitartaite „To inner freedom“ („Vidinės laisvės link“ Vilnius: TYPOART, 2007), and in 2010 – the album of painting “Curonian Spit” („Kuršių nerija“ Vilnius: PETRO OFSETAS, 2010).
