Greg Tricker Biography

Greg Tricker was born in London. He now lives in the county of Gloucestershire (UK), where he teaches stone carving at the Ruskin Mill Centre.

In addition to his expertise in stone carving, Greg is one of the most renowned Batik-painting artists.

Greg has held over 24 exhibitions of his work, including the following:

Lady Lyre: An exhibition of 14 pieces on a musical theme with mythological and mystical elements. Noteworthy for the use of gold, silver and copper lustre colours. The exhibition was first mounted at Millwards, Bristol (UK), in 1990.

Jonah the Prophet: An exhibition of figurative oil and water colour paintings exploring the mystical and allegorical import of the bible story. First shown in Bristol in 1989.

The Holy Fool: Paintings based on the Fool Theme focus on the inner creative element found in the poet, Priest and Artist almost lost in this age. Qualities of myth, echoes of the Folk Art Spirit and elements of the circus.

The Catacombs: The most recent paintings and sculptures are centred around the Art of Early Christianity and wall paintings of the Catacombs buried beneath ancient Rome.

At PicassoMio.com, we are pleased to present some of the versatile Greg's sculptures, etchings and the celebrated 21-piece Batik series depicting the life of Anne Frank.
