Editorial Reviews

"Simply put, these items make me feel classic. And there is no substitute for feeling this way. Ever."In the wildly popular The Little Black Book of Style, fashion authority Nina Garcia showed women how to think about personal style in an entirely new way. Encouraging readers to creatively assert their style identities, Nina showed women of all ages how to hone and self-edit a distinct fashion voice. With her style philosophy firmly out in the world, Nina decided to address the most popular question readers consistently ask her: Exactly what are fashion's timeless pieces? The One Hundred answers this question and provides women with a tangible style map to follow when planning a shopping trip and stocking one's closet. With illustrations from world-renowned fashion illustrator Ruben Toledo, The One Hundred contains the 100 items that Nina believes will never go out of style, and that have become absolutely indispensible for any woman reaching for her own eternal fashion look.

Style book that makes you think!, 2009-11-07
by Kathryn Dewoskin (Chicago, IL, USA)
I absolutely love this book! It's witty and informative, full of little tidbits of information that I would have never known (was not aware that cowboy boots were developed from cavalry boots!) and it's a refreshingly straightforward read.

Not only does Nina give a list of all the wonderful things that make her feel classic but she encourages you to adapt them for your own personal style statement. [...].
IDEAL BOOK TO CREATE A TIMELESS AND BASIC WARDROBRE, 2009-10-13

I bought this book because every girl/woman needs to improve her knowledge about fashion and style. Nina's book helped me find the pieces that will never go out of style, like the classic black blazer or aviator sunglasses. A great fun and colorful book that will help on your shopping days.

I loved it.
Finished it really fast, and I still use it for consulting.
I definitely recommend it for girls and women that like fashion.
if you like to dress alphabetically..., 2009-09-10
by Unlikely Commentator (Champaign, IL)
i don't understand why the essential 100 items are put together alphabetically. i don't know anyone who shops alphabetically or dresses alphabetically. i think it would have been much more helpful to categorize the items as separates, for instance, put all footwear together. or even create outfits with essential items. i think this idea has real potential, but its current format does little good.
A reference must have., 2009-06-17
loved it. Bought copies for both daughters. This book made sense out of fashion for me.
