John Philip Edstrand Biography

Swedish artist John Philip Edstrand is a contemporary painter working in multiple techniques, including drawing, sculpture, photography & digital images. By fusing them all together into his unique paintings, he explores the boundaries between painted surface and three dimensional objects. Having paintings long history in mind where so many gestures and expressions have been seen, John Philip Edstrand strives to reach further with the painted medium. Combining sculptural form with motif in a playful manner, he explores the boundaries between image and object.
