For a pre-WWI primary source review of the Florentine avant-garde, these books are essential. The series is broken down into two volumes and one additional supplementary book. Many contributions were made by the Milanese based Futurists as well. In particular, there are ample writings by the artist, Carlo Carrà. For a fun read that's in print, try Adamson's 'Avant-Garde Florence: From Modernism to Fascism.'
