Luis Serrano Biography

Madrid, Spain, 1945

Spanish artist Luis Serrano currently lives in Italy. Serrano works in a hyperrealist style, painting farm animals adorned with flowers and plants, inhabitants of a timeless imaginary world, and that seem like the dreams of a farmhand, tired of working. At the same time he creates doubts about the realness of his subjects, due to the fact that they seem so out of place.

His compositions are well-balanced in form and color and look to create a joyful and happy visual effect, along with a bit of subtle irony in the situation.

Serano studied at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid in the Faculty of Fine Arts. He currently lives in Rome. As well as painting, he also illustrates for many publishers.

His work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions in Rome, Trevi, Monreale (Palermo) and Naples.
