Manolo Quejido Biography

Sevilla, Spain, 1946

Spanish painter and graphic artist Manolo Quejido was member of the group called the “Nueva figuración madrileña” towards the end of the 70s.

He moved to Madrid in 1964, where he began to paint. The next ten years constitute what the artist himself considers “his university”; during which he experimented with the vanguard styles of the moment, principally informalism, pop art and technological art.

Quejido received a grant from the Ministry of Culture in 1980 and from the Juan March Foundation in 1981.
