Detailed Description

Developed with Rosenthal porcelain, this vase merges the unique shape of a natural sponge and the sophistication of white porcelain. After dipping the sponge in liquid porcelain clay and letting it dry, Marcel Wanders had the porcelain-soaked sponge baked in a ceramic kiln. The sponge disintegrated, leaving a perfect porcelain copy of its intricate structure. While industrially produced, each Sponge Vase is a unique object of natural beauty.
