Min Wae Aung Biography

Min Wae Aung was born in Danubyu, Burma, in 1960.

Although he studied very traditional art, his experience as a commercial graphic artist and a visit to the USA, in 1993, encouraged him to employ a more contemporary style.

Education

Min Wae studied traditional landscape and portrait painting at the State School of Fine Art in Yangoon (Rangoon).

Exhibitions & Collections

Min Wae Aung has exhibited his work in the UK on various ocasions, as well as at international art fairs like Tresors and Taipei Art Fair International. His works have also been shown at the Westfries Museum in Hoorn, The Netherlands.

His works form part of private collections in USA, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia and Japan.

A selection of this artists exhibitions is as follows:

1998: Singapore Museum of Art.

1997: ASEAN Masterworks exhibition, at the Leader's Summit in Kuala Lumpur.

His works now form a perminant part of this museums art exhibit.
