Paulo de Tarso is a Brazilian artist who creates three-dimensional decorative artworks.
With a form that recalls Frank Stella’s sculptures, de Tarso’s artworks are monochromatic with rounded, organic lines. The material he uses (carbon steel and automobile paint) give the sculptures a cold look and a shiny finish.
De Tarso studied Mechanical Engineering Escola Politécnica at the University of São Paulo and later worked in advertising at the agencies MPM y DPZ as a marketing consultant. He taught at the Escola Superior of Propaganda and Marketing of São Paulo and was a regular visitor to the atelier of Carlos Fajardo in 1981 and 1982 and the Escuela de Escultura of Calabrone and Beccheroni in 1883. With the support of Professor PM Bardi, he worked with the sculptor Piero Moret in 1984.
