Russell Simms Biography

An emerging American artist, Russell Simms works in an abstract style. His paintings are marked by strong line, expressive brushwork, and contrasting color.

He says of his work: I draw my influences from all the modern artists, with a particular respect for Jackson Pollock and his action paintings, and the solemn color fields of Mark Rothko. Those influences are what inspire me to achieve a visual record of my personality and creativity through the spontaneousness with which abstract expressionists work.
