Editorial Reviews

Scott Schuman just wanted to take photographs of people on the street who looked great. His now famous blog ('the bellwether American site that turned photo blogging into an art form' - "New York Times") was an attempt to showcase the wonderful and varied sartorial tastes of real people - not only those of the fashion industry. The book is a beautiful anthology of Scott's favourite shots from around the world. They include photographs of well-known fashion figures as well as those shots of the anonymous passerby whose imagination and taste delight the viewer. From the streets of Rio to Bejing, Stockholm to Milan, these are the people that have inspired Scott and in turn, inspired designers and people of all ages, wages and nationalities with an interest in fashion. Intimately designed and created with Scott, the book is a handsome object in its own right, in full colour on hand-picked, quality paper.

Over,and over and over, 2009-10-18
by Catherine M. Chastain (TEXAS)
I absolutely LOVE this book. The images are so rich and inspiring. I could look at the images in this book everyday and each day find something I hadn't seen the day before! I'm so glad I bought the book! I'm meeting Scott on Tuesday and can't WAIT!
Disappointing, 2009-10-15
by B. A. Herzhaft (So Cal)
One would think that a book of fashion images would be equally weighted between
pictures of men and women. But this book has about 70% images of men, which (being a woman)
I wish I would have known before buying this book. It is now offically a doorstop.
Street photography is the new trend, 2009-10-15
by K. Vasiliadis (Athens, Greece)
Scott Schuman is one of the most influenced street-fashion photographers the last years. His book is his blog and that's it. All this people make feel the freshness of well-dressed and hyper aesthetic society with the knowledge of style in it's life. And I think so is a precursor for a better quality of everyday life, is an extension for better living and people with good manners and more confidence about their self's.
the best book for a true fashionista, 2009-10-14
by Natalia Romashko (Russia,Saint-Petersburg)
The Sartorialist is a great book for every person who is interested in fashion, personal style and photography. Scott Schuman is talented in reproducing personality through all his photos.
Fashionista Fantasy, 2009-10-05
by Tony Medeiros (Montreal)
I know nothing about fashion, my wife would attest that statement. By chance I picked up this book and looked at the pictures of a wealth of fashionable individuals just like me and you. The Sartorialist spoke volumes about humanity and the day some of them ran into Scott Schuman and he snapped a picture of them. Scott Schuman, The Sartorialist is a visual camera voyeur who captures the essence what he thinks at the moment on his search of pedestrian cool. He captures the spirit of well put together individuals who have a flare for individual fashion. His book, The Sartorialist, is based on his blog by the same name. Scott Schuman is yet another example of a blogger who has given us a fashionista fantasy of actual people who walk the streets in fine fashion. This is a great book for both those in fashion but also it serves as a time capsule for the future of our present time. Fashion is about a state of being. Bad clothes will make a person feel like crap. This book is visual candy and will give you ideas on how to sculpture your wardrobe into a stylish personality.
