Fauvism Art and Artists
Les Fauves, French for wild beasts, were a group of early Modern artists whose works emphasized painterly qualities with the use of deep, brilliant colors and simplified lines. Fauvists valued freshness and spontaneity in their works. Notable fauvists include Henri Matisse.
