The work is Hand Signed in pencil "L. Foujita" in the lower right corner and also Hand Inscribed in pencil "EA" (Epreuve d'Artiste = Artist Proof) in the lower left corner.The regular edition was printed in a limited edition of 261 impressions. This work is one of the rare Artist's Proofs.
Foujita created the work in commission of Jean Cocteau, for his book, titled "La Mésangere". The book incorporates 22 works by Foujita and was published by Pierre de Tartas.
