Victoria Peragón Biography

Madrid, 1961

Spanish painter and graphic artist Victoria Peragón works in and researches calcographic printing techniques, basing her work mainly in etching. In her pictorial artworks, she fuses techniques and media to create a fundamentally figurative work.

Victoria has collaborated with various magazines, illustrating culture and current events articles. Within this field, she also created illustrations for children’s books for the publisher Montena-Mondadori, and posters for the City of Madrid, Spain.

She is the cofounder of Isla de Yula, a group with which she created a series of six artworks in batik, not only as a textile printing technique but also as a fine art technique, which has led to her participating in exhibitions in different galleries.

Victoria has participated in various printmaking workshops at the Circulo de Bellas Artes in Madrid and in 1988 she received a fellowship from the Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo, for the Batik printing course led by fine artist Víctor Ávila.
