Kenneth Noland (California, 1924) American painter and sculptor, widely recognized to be a leading avant-garde artist. Trained at the Black Mountain College and the Zadkine, in Paris, Noland is most well-known for his Hard-Edge paintings. His most familiar works are the target paintings, which consisted of concentric circles on square canvas (Tate Gallery, London). Other similar works included
