Omme Vivum ex Ovo Series (locution referring to the idea that all life originates from a germ) is an iconographic research dealing with the role of medicine in human history.
These female figures are a metaphor to the four parts of the world and human race. There circumstance of holding the weight of the world resembles the idea of struggle for life and the vital responsibility to follow through, reason why they appear to be chained to there destiny. The backgrounds are stoic portraits of Roman Patricians who represent the idea of civilization as a final consequence of human procreation.
