Andreas Gursky Biography

Leipzig (Germany), 1955

Established German photographer and printmaker Andreas Gursky is one of the most influential and popular contemporary photographers. His detail-rich photographs explore contemporary culture.

Gursky studied at the the Folkwangschule in Essen, and at the Arts Academy of Dusseldorf as a student of Bernd Becher.

His work has been widely exhibited in major art galleries around the world.
