Antonio Segui Biography

Cordoba, Argentina, 1934 -

An established Argentine artist, Antonio Segui works as both a painter and illustrator. His pieces are generally satirical or humorous critiques of society that depict grotesque characters playing out strange stories in an urban setting. He has been labelled both an informalist and surrealist.

From an early age Segui showed a talent for art. He studied at various academies during his childhood, most notably under Ernest Farina. When he was 17 he travelled to Europe, studying first at the Academia de San Fernando in Madrid, and later the Ã?cole des Beaux-Arts in Paris.

His work has been exhibited and collected internationally.
