Fine Art: How and Where to Hang an Artwork

How and Where to Hang an Artwork

Keep in mind that the center of the artwork should be at eye level, approximately five and a half feet from the floor.

Also, every artwork has its own "aura" and needs to be surrounded by sufficient empty space so that it can be properly appreciated.

If the artwork is to be hung above a piece of furniture, the furniture should serve as a visual guide: the artwork should not be longer than the furniture and should be at least 8-10 inches away from it.

Endeavor to create a balanced decoration. For example, not all the artworks in one space should have the same style. A combination of different styles and techniques are a good alternative.

In large, open spaces, artworks can create visual separation, dividing the space in a pleasant way.
