Complementary Colours

Complimentary colors are colors that are opposite to each other on what is known as the color wheel. The three primary colors, red, yellow and blue, each have an opposite secondary color, orange, green and purple. Secondary colors are made up from two primary colors, for example red and yellow (primaries) make orange (secondary). The only primary color orange has nothing in common with is blue, therefore blue is the complimentary of orange, etc. Complimentary colors, when placed side by side, create the strongest contrast, each intensifying the other
