Fire

Fire

Fire is a term used in ceramics and pottery. Potters and ceramicists exposed their clay works to extreme heat in a powerful oven device known as a kiln. This process (firing) hardens the clay and melts the glazes or enamels that have been used for decoration. When the object cools it is hard and the colors are permanently set.
