DESCRIPTION:
The First Moscow Biennale is responsible for reintroducing Cntemporary Russian art back into the international art world and restructuring Moscow’s image as one of the world’s major cultural capitals.
LAST EDITION:
The Moscow Biennale took place between the months of January-February 2005. The opening of the Moscow Biennale was on January the 28th. The main exhibition of the Biennale was located at the former Lenin Museum (branch of the State Historical Museum), The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, The State Tretyakov Gallery, The Schusev State Museum of Architecture, and The Moscow Museum of Contemporary Art. The Biennale was put together by a team of six international curators which brought together 41 artists from China, India, USA, Cuba, Korea, France, Germany and others (including six from Russia).
