Cliché Verre

Cliché Verre is French for “glass negative”, which is exactly what the term describes. In this process a negative image is made by scratching an image onto the darkened and opaque surface of a glass negative. This plate is contact printed onto a sheet of light sensitive photographic paper. This printing process can also be achieved by placing the plate and paper in direct sunlight.
