Frederick Gore Biography

British artist Frederick Gore in one of the oldest members of the Royal Academy. He works in an impressionist style, creating fresh landscapes full of brilliant colors. His work is strongly influenced by his father, Frederick Spencer Gore, who held the first post-impressionist exhibition in London in 1912.

Gore studied painting at the Ruskin School. He later continued his studies at the Westminster School of Art and the Slade School of Art.

He was chosen as a member of the Royal Academy in 1964 and was president of the Exhibition Committee of the Royal Academy from 1976 until 1987.

Gore has held numerous solo exhibitions, mainly in London and New York, and has also exhibited on many occasions in the Contemporary Art Society Exhibitions of the Tate Museum.

His work can be found in many public collections including the CAS and in numerous regional galleries and museums.
