Santiago Ydañez studied Fine Arts in Granada and has participated in workshops with Juan Genoves, among others. Has received important mentions and is currently one of the young spanish painters with more international projection. He obtained the ABC Painting Award in 2002 and Pintura Generacion 2002 Award form Caja Madrid, the scholarship from Colegio de España en Paris del Ministerio de Cultura in 2001 and the scholarship from Fundacion Marcelino Botin in 1998. Recently, along with other four artists from de Iberian peninsula, such as Sergio Belinchon (Valencia, 1971), have organized an initiative to show their latest work in Berlin. The space is called Invaliden1 Galerie and is located downtown in the Mitte district. Santiago Ydañez currently works and lives in Berlin (Germany) and Granada (Spain).
