Miguel Rodriguez-Acosta Biography

Painter, illustrator and engraver Spanish. He was chairman of the board of the Fundación Rodríguez-Acosta of his hometown and deputy director of the Museum of Modern Art in Madrid.

He began his artistic training with his uncle, the painter José María Rodríguez-Acosta and Joaquín Valverde's workshop, then joined the School of Fine Arts in Madrid. As an illustrator highlights the folder of engravings made for Sonnets of Dark Love, unpublished work of Federico García Lorca, and their collaboration in the magazine Litoral, in the issues devoted to Arabic poetry (1988-1989).

He has participated in numerous exhibitions, both individual and collective, holding his first single at the Casa de los Tiros de Granada in 1957, took part in an arc (1982) and in the exhibition Contemporary Print in Spain held at the Centro Cultural del Conde Duque Madrid (1988).

Paths has been awarded second prize at the National Exhibitions of 1954 and 1957 respectively, and first in the 1960 edition of the canvas titled Theological Virtues Circle Award XXII Fine Arts Chamber of Engraving and Printing, 1978, Prix Ministry of Culture Marbella Biennial 1983 International Prize of Venice, 1986 engraving and National Engraving Prize Salamanca Maria Contemporary Engraving Museum of Marbella, 1997, among others
