Erro Biography

Erro (born as Gudmundur Gudmundsson), was born in Iceland in 1932, he studied art in Iceland, Norway and Italy, and finally, Mosaic in Ravenna.

He moved to Paris in 1958. There he meets famous artists such as the Surrealist André Breton, Roberto Matta and André Masson, through his friend, the performer artist Jean-Jacques Lebel.

In 1986, he represented Iceland at the Venice Biennale.

Erro is mainly known for his collages and paintings where he mixes characters from popular culture, film, comics or painting.
