Jean-Michel Atlan Biography

French painter, born in Constantine in 1913, he began painting in 1944, after studying philosophy at the Sorbonne. In 1946, he joined the CoBrA movement.

Self-taught, his art is inspired by myths, poetry, the Jewish Kabbalah... It is characterized by large black lines framing large pastel areas.

In 1955, he exhibited at the Galerie Charpentier. He died in February 12, 1960 in Paris.
