Ortiz Alfau Biography

Established Spanish painter and illustrator, Ortiz Alfau is best regarded for his FIGURATIVE EXPRESSIONIST works.

Initially self-trained, the Artist polished his skills by studying in Bilbao, Basque Country, Spain and Paris (1961 ? 1962). Between 1961 and 1975, Ortiz Alfau worked as an illustrator for various Parisian magazines, such as NICOLE DE FRANCE and KRISARTS, as well as the Spanish editorial, EL COFRE BILBAINO. During this period, the Artist also began working on Graphic Prints with the group, GRUPO DE ESTAMPA POPULAR IN BILBAO.

The Artist has exhibited at over 100 COLLECTIVE EXHIBITIONS, between 1957 and 2000, in Colombia, Italy, Mexico, Portugal, and Spain.
