Anthony Eyton Biography

Teddington, Middlesex, England, 1923-

Well-known British painter, Anthony Eyton's work generally depicts landscapes - his experiences, memories, stories and myths from the places that he visits.

In 1969, he was named the Director of Painting at the St. Lawrence College, Kingston, Ontario and was awarded the Kingston-Whig prize in 1971. In 1972, he won the John Moores Competition and was elected to the Royal Academy (1976). He is also a member of the Royal Watercolour Society and has been teaching at the Royal Academy Schools, since 1988.
