Ren Si Hong Biography

Ren Si Hong (B. 1967, China) Rooted in Hubei Province, Ren was born in Hebei Province in 1967. In 1991, he graduated from the Hebei Teacher’s University with major in Oil Painting. From 1991 to 1993 he studied in the Teaching Assistant Program for the Oil Painting Class in Central Academy of Fine Arts. In 1993, his solo exhibition was held in the Central Academy’s gallery. Between 1994 and 1995, he resides at Yuan Ming Yuan village as a freelance artist. Also, in 1995 his works “For a Girl’s Birthday in Summer of ‘94” was selected to show in the 3rd Chinese Annual Oil Painting Exhibition. His works were exhibited in China’s Ten Contemporary Artist Oil Painting Exhibition in Qingdao Province (2004), “She Shi Dai” (Luxury Times) Sculpture Exhibition in Tianjin (2005), “Beijing Artistic Literature Exhibition” in Beijing (2005) and the “Made in China” Exhibition in Italy (2006) etc. Like many of his post - Cultural Revolution counterparts, he draws inspiration from his own experiences and influences. The Broadcast Series is a direct translation of the propaganda of Mao’s speeches and publicity, whilst yet imparting Ren’s own unique brand of humour and relevance to his work. Ren Si Hong is widely recognised on the art scene as one of China’s more experimental, exciting and relevant artists showing today.close
