Dumoffice Biography

Dumoffice was founded in 1997 by Wiebe Boonstra (born 1968), Martijn Hoogendijk (born 1970) and Marc van Nederpelt (born 1965) and lasted almost seven years before the designers went their separate ways in November, 2003. They all graduated from the Design Academy in Eindhoven in 1994.

Their objective is to develop their product experiments into fully functional and commercial industrial products. They have created a range of products including chairs, benches, tables, cabinets, carpets and lighting. They have also done projects such as kitchens, guardhouses, offices, voting machines, media stores, and lounges, amongst others.

Their work has been widely published in Frame Magazine, Interni, Surface, the ?International Design Yearbook? and Taschen?s ?Designing the 21st Century.? Several of its designs have been exhibited at the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Museum of Decorative Arts in Copenhagen and London?s Victoria and Albert Museum.
