Title: Tres Livres (s.7510) Medium: Original lithograph in colours, 1970, On heavy cream wove Guarro paper, signed in the stone Reference: Miro Lithographie IV (1969 - 1972) - Maeght Editeur (Catalogue Raisonee) - No 680 Published by: Poligrafa editeur et imprimeur, Barcelona, 1971 Printed by: La Poligrafa, S A Barcelona, Spain Edition: A proof outside the edition of 500 numbered and monogrammed Note: This was created to commemorate an exhibition of Miro’s made in Osaka, Japan in 1971. It is an “avant les lettres” lithograph. (That is to say it is a version made prior to the poster which had an inscription written across it). The Japanese show consisted of works from two suites : “Les essencies de la Terra and “Ma de Proverbis” The poster version was printed with letters in Japanese as illustrated in the Catalogue Raisonee. there was also another version printed with letters in Catalan and another version in English for an exhibition of lithographs at the Galerie Hachette, London, in 1971.
