Detailed Description

John Edwards is a senior British artist in the abstract tradition. Edwards' works can be found in some of the worlds most important contemporary art collections, among these the Gugenheim Museum, New York and the European Parliament. In his own words: As a practising painter, I seek to define the role of colour in painting and sculpture. Using my painterly experience to explore the gesture in order to achieve, brush strokes in actual space. I use colour to express my inner feelings, thereby creating emblems of this continual process, ranging from passion to serenity.
