Josep Cárceles Biography
Josep Cárceles born in Barcelona on April 20, 1957. Endowed with innate artistic qualities, beginning in the art world since an early age. His early paintings were in oil, using realistic landscapes and still lifes.
Later in the decade 1970 - 1980 is beyond your imagination in the paintings with surreal and dreamlike subjects, starting to see their space will be projected in a style that with maturity, will be very personal and unique.
Your mind can build color volumes in three dimensions, and defining rotate until the finished artwork in his later imagination to transform it into the canvas or the sculpture that conserves scarce.
In the years following the left wall paintings to sculptures to large panels of wood and iron, always looking for the three-dimensionality of the work to immerse the viewer within the concept of the table.
At present, although he is back in the canvas, has done extensive work in a unique graphic works on paper and cardboard pulp plant flax handmade and painted with different techniques with very attractive and charming.
Now it is developing a pilot phase relation to create a series of works such as "collage" titled: "KAOS OR MUSIK OF THE KOSMOS" which consists of 20 works, one for each letter of the title, representing the figures and sculptures that has created during his prolific career (about a thousand works). This private collection belongs to the family of the artist and is defined as a retrospective of all his endless creativity.
Josep Cárceles is a lover of the works of great format. He does not get scared at the moment of that your structures and outlines are projected by unusual energy out of the limits of the picture. For him, the work in your set, is the sum of the full and empty spaces, lights and shades. Your vast sculptural experience receives with the years the brave audacity of filling the walls with powerful works. What the artist claims and obtains, is that the spectator before your work feels impressed and affected.
