Detailed Description

Inspired by a trip across Turkey, through a fabulous gorge where time-weathered boulders offered up images of figures, one stood out from all the rest: severed by an earthquake two halves still stood together as one person split in two. Missing as I was, my twin sister, I borrowed this image from nature and refined it in my studio. Athough it speaks clearly to me of a close sibling relationship, it also speaks more widely of love, of marriage and of partnership whilst also echoing the Yin/Yang dependency of opposites and the need we all have for ballance and harmony in our lives.
