Marcel Wanders Artwork Details

Detailed Description

This vase is a modern copy of a 3100 year-old handmade Chinese vase, found on the bottom of the sea. The vase was used as a jelly-jar for more than 300 years. Marcel Wanders copied the shape and produced it in white porcelain. Like the Chinese ceramist the makers' marks are visible on the vase (such as parting-lines, shrink), and thereby make a part of the vase's history visible.
