Maria Olmedo Soler Biography

Once upon a time there was a girl who always wanted to draw. She used to draw in notepads, in the school blackboard and in home's walls. She liked drawing even in the Drawing class; yes, she was a very strange girl, as everybody knows that Drawing classes are for playing. One day, this girl discovered the computes, and noticed the great potential they had. So she started to write on them, to draw and paint on them. And when she felt tired of this, she said: "let's to turn it on to see what happens!". At that moment began a period quite gray in the career of this artist. No paper scribbled, no clothes spoiled by blobs of paint or ink stained hands. The computer painting technique proved to be great financially speaking (not spent or pencil sharpeners), but too clean to the spirit of a true artist. So, determined to offer a new vision of her art (something not seen only through a computer screen), she took a brush and canvas and began to work. A long time has past. Now it is easy to see the artist with a mouse in hand and a paintbrush in her bag, with her hair painted in green and the computer full of pictures. There are things that can not be displayed on screen (well, it can, but it is not the same), occasionally she likes to exhibit his paintings and drawings in the best showrooms. But as the idea is to reach everybody - we're in the era of globalization, internet and the world is a handkerchief - you can also find her in a book, in the Christmas mail, in the walls of a Company and, of course, in the rooms of many children.

Artist's Statement

I have two very differten styles: Clasic Painting: in canvas, with classic thems, landscapes and a lot of books. And the Fantasy Painting: where dragons and fairies, castles and elfs come together in wood boards to animate child rooms and inspire the elder's imagination. I hope people enjoy my artwork as I enjoy painting them.
