Artist's Statement

I've been working the ancient techniques from Latin America since pre-Columbian aesthetic model with a completely contemporary vision and theme. The combination of oxidized metals and ceramics with recyclable items such as cardboard, buttons, etc. and print idiosyncrasies give today, adding contemporary and primitive character to the ancient technique. I believe that my sculptures are a combination of contexts, stories, rituals, geographies, cultures, where the technique is as important as the work itself and is a message I want to stop and make mark on each of my works: defense of nature, natural resources, the nature uitilización in for good measure. All this plus the final trabao are part of the same work. Each work I think they have a fresh look at combining this with the past, reassessing the nature and indigenous cultures of Latin America
