Paul Plews Biography

Paul Plews is an award-winning, emerging photographer from the North East of England.

His striking photographic portraits often feature subjects dressed in exotic costume and illuminated by a mysterious light, in the ciaroscuro tradition.

Plews won the prestigious Deloitte Award at the National Portrait Gallery, London, in 2004, and exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery as part of the Schweppes Award 2005, and the Association of Photographers Awards 2006. His work has also been selected by Olympus as part of their current ?Inheritance Exhibition? ? alongside established photographers David Bailey, Barry Lategan and Patrick Lichfield.
