Samvel Husik Atasunts Autobiography

Samvel Atasunts was born in city Samarkand, Uzbekistan in July 28, 1959. In 1967 he moved to Yerevan. In 1974 he joined the painting group in name of N.G. Kotanjyan. From 1977 to 1979 Samvel Atasunts studied in Artistic and technical college in faculty of faience and porcelain illustration. From 1979 to 1981 he had military service in Soviet Army. Since 2001 he is an honored member of Artists`Union of Republic of Armenia. During Soviet era he worked in many fields, as lathe turner in Instrument making factory, worker in construction, head of drawing group in college, art workshops and technician in Chemistry Institute etc. Samvel Atasunts is painting in all genres and stiles. He draws portraits under the order. From 1975 to 1977 Samvel Atasunts partecipated in first exhibition and won the second place, got the diploma and in 1977 has been mentioned in magazine “Arvest” (Art) dedicated to the exhibition. Later he has participated in other exhibitions with few works. In 1998 Samvel Atasunts participated in an exhibition in Switzerland with other artists from all over the world with his diptych picture on 18x18 “Dawn, breakfast” and got monetary reward. In 2008 he has been mentioned in the book of Armen Satyan, called “Dialogues in the space of fine arts”. Since 2009 his canvas “Last tram” is in the Museum of History of Yerevan.
